Sealdah- The busiest railway station

Sealdah is one of the busiest railway station in India. Nit only in India but also the busiest railway station of Asia. This station has a footfall passengers of over 1.8 million daily traveling. Not only it's network reaches suburban and rural areas of West Bengal but also it reaches it's network all-over India. Not only express trains are avail but also local trains are available at this station.

History of this station

Sealdah railway station was started in 1862(157 years ago).

And from the year 1960 it is being electrified(59 years ago).

At first it was called by '' Eastern Bengal railways ''.

Description of the railway station

The railway station consist of 20 platforms.

And also it could consist of 24 track .

The station consist of executive lounge opened by IRCTC which is first of any of the main stations in West Bengal. It was opened on "Bengali new year" 2019. It covers a areaare 2500 sq ft having Wi-fi, showers, food, newspapers, TV, Room service are also available. It is also accessible for wheelchair-bound passengers.

Soon there will be a 2 lines metro services available at sealdah (beside the station). The station also has it's parking space. The station has a good location, passengers can easily get buses, trams, taxi's, private cabs available. It has a free wifi zone all throughout the station.
